Fort Hose
is probably the only attraction worth seeing in Marudi.
As one entering the museum, there are few mediocre handicrafts displayed.
Charles Hose, Baram's Resident in late 19th century. He was the person responsible in creating peace among the fighting natives in Baram, resulting the creation of Baram Regatta.
I am always amazed at the determination of these British people, travelling at great distance to reach the unknown lands.
The displays in Fort Hose museum are very few and mostly consist of pictures.
I cannot figure out how a court proceeding was conducted in the fort those days.
A failed depiction of the characters in the picture.
A gigantic sape displayed near the entrance.
This particular picture interests me. The Chinese in those early days. To have their pictures taken, they must be wealthy enough. The contended faces. Probably taken in front of their lands.
