Jacob's Story Telling Day

After months and months of preparing Jacob's Greedy Crocodile's costume, the Story Telling Day finally arrived. A simple, supposedly one-hour teeth cutting process took me an entire week to make after much procrastination.
I took one whole week just to cut the lower jaw part.

The other costumes made by the parents were impressive. Their creative juice was shown in the many cuttings, used as props in the story telling session.

The classic story of the Hare and the Tortoise
Geese among the flower beds
We reached at around 8.45 a.m. after buying breakfast at the McDonald's drive thru. The number of parents were much lesser compared to last year's.

We were still early as the competition was yet to start. I took Jacob to his teacher to report his attendance. His classmate were curios of the Crocodile's head.

We walked around in the hall while waiting for the session to start.
Brothers
Students in Wa Wa Class kicked start the first story telling session. There're three sessions: the Mandarin session, Bahasa Melayu session and English session. The children were very talented. I was impressed by their body language and their intonation, while bringing life to their stories' characters.

Jacob was still having his stage fright. Though better than last year's when he was totally stunned standing all by himself on the stage. He managed to finish his story telling but his voice was soft. If he will be selected next year, we should start training him to bring up his confidence.

After every child had finished the story telling, the Principal gave away prizes and medals.

It was an experience to create family bonding time. I enjoyed the morning event and I was sure Jacob was having good time running everywhere, playing with his friends. A good opportunity to gain stage experience for Jacob.
