I ran upstairs, into the master room and woke Wife up. She was shocked as soon as I told her our house had been broken into. She told me to blow up the siren immediately. In panic, I didn't know how to switch the house alarm on, We were taught how to switch the alarm off. But not ON the alarm. She told me to drag the bed over the room door.
I called the local police number which I found in the Net. I called the person who installed the alarm system in our house to come over at 5 a.m. We called Wife's father to come over our house. Th police patrol car came short after. After checking the house, we went down. Still in disbelief, I found that our new car was gone. My wallet was gone. I was heartbroken.
I sent my son to school at around 6 a.m. and went to Lutong Police Station at around 6.15 a.m. The only police staff was lying on the couch. After several attempts to wake him up by making loud noise, I jotted him up. He took a good 10 minutes to get himself to sit in front of his working stationI told him of our case. As he was still looking for the template in his computer, I wrote down the details of the case. He keyed in all the details, while trying to wake himself up. Afteer a good 30 minutes, I told him I needed to go back home to take care of my family who was still in shock, telling him I would come back soon.
Approximately 7.30 a.m., I went back to the police station to be handed a police report and told that Sergeant Z will be the investigating officer and he would contact me later of the day. I was totally drained. Sleep deprived. Depressed. Wife told me to renew my IC and driving license. The ATM card and the credit card. Her friend dropped by. Her uncle and aunty dropped by too. Everyone was concerned. Wife dropped some messages in Miri Community in the Facebook. It was a powerful media source as many Mirians knew about the stolen car and helped to look out for the car.
Sergeant Z arrived at around 9 a.m. with a photographer. He took some pictures of the break in place. Despite I told him that the burglar came in from next door, he simply nodded. As they were about to walk off, I asked if he wanted to check for any finger prints of our other car. Only then, they took out their kit and dusted for evidence.
Around 12.30 p.m., Wife told me that someone had found our car at a remote place, about 1.5 km from Curtin University. I called Sergeant Z and asked him if he would be coming to the crime scene. He said he would call me back. My father in law came to our to house to bring me to the car. I called Inspector in one of the Lutong Whatsapp group and asked him about the police procedure. He said he would call Sergeant Z. We went off to the crime scene.

1.05 p.m. I called Sergeant Z. he sounded irritated and asked me to make a police report. I asked him what is the police procedure. Should we called the towing lorry? To send the car to police station or straight to Toyota workshop. He only asked me whether we needed him to call a towing lorry without telling me what was the police procedure. Few good hours passed by, the towing lorry was with us, in the scorching afternoon, Sergeant Z called and asked why was the crime scene.
Soon after, he reached the crime scene, took few photos and told us to bring the car to Lutong Police Station. Talk about the good standard of our police force.
Wife called me that she opted for Cesaerean operation the next day. And she had bought all the necessary locks. All locks replaced. The other car was sent to workshop to replace the alarm system.
The broken grill replaced. The alarm system refortified. I told the alarm guy that we were devastated. After spending many thousand of ringgits, the aftemath was devastatingly dissappointing.
Wife told me to get a good rest as baby Angeline was about to be delivered the next day.
Around 6.00 a.m., we sent Darrien to school and we headed to the hospital.
8.33 a.m., my 3.38kg Angeline was born. Thank you Dr, Aida and her team. Thank you Dr. Wong, the peadiatrician.
I spent a couple of nights with Wife in the hospital. I don't know if most fathers actually spent the nights with their wives. From my experience, it is not a joking matter. Not to mention trying to get baby to breastfeed throughout the nights.
After two nights, we headed home on the third day.
Giving bath to baby Angeline, with the two boys helping out.
Though my girl was complaining about my unkept beard.
Six days later, my unkept beard was still there. And yes, she was not happy about it.
